Project 1: application e-learning

Context

when? where? who? why?

When ? Our application will be developed in the coming months
Where ? We would like to focus first on France because we have a better knowledge of French culture and then we would like to develop our concept on an European or even global scale
Who ? Our application is for children and students
Why ? The goal of our application is to help younger generations to arouse their curiosity and to cultivate while having fun : they will have to learn to recognize masterpieces, styles, periods for art museums or learn to place historical events on a frieze.

Our application will be dedicated to young people according to their level of study : in primary school, middle school, high school or higher education.

Service offered

what? how?

Each person will have to choose their category according to their level of study. Then, they will have to choose a museum from our register containing both French and international museums. Fun activities to learn more about what the museum has to offer will then appear: from memos to quizzes, these games are designed to help young people learn more about art or history. By playing games, the user earns points, called wards, which can be used to earn rewards (vouchers on museum souvenir shops, vouchers for board games, benefits during museum visits, or even a free trip to the museum of their choice). In order to make this system possible, we would like to set up partnerships with the various museums: in exchange for the vouchers offered to deserving people, we allow these museums to have visibility.

As a concurrent we can name the application quiz up which offers multiple quizzes about many subjects (series, television, cinema, gastronomy, economics, politics, animals ...) and in which it is possible to play with other people on a same subject. We can find a variety of quizzes about famous museums, masterpieces and history (in this way it relates with our project). But this application differs from our application because they are quizzes about a huge variety of subjects. Our application is just focused on museums, masterpieces and history and there is many different way to test the knowledges : quizzes, memos, puzzle of masterpieces …

As a concurrent there is the application named DailyArt which consists in exploring classical, modern, contemporary masterpieces, reading biographies about artists and reading informations about museums’ collections. This app, as ours, has many quizzes about art. Our app stands out because it also focuses on history and important moment of history, there is not only quizzes but also game of 7 differences, memos, and so on, and mostly it is dedicated to children and young people in general.

There is the book for children named « L’imagerie des arts », by Marie-Renée Guilloret. It encourages children to discover the main fields of art: painting, sculpture, architecture …Thanks to the numerous illustrations and reproductions of paintings, statues and monuments, they will become familiar with the works of great artists while travelling through very diverse periods and civilizations. The goal of our app is the same : to facilitate the learning of art for children.

There is the book for children of Vincent Péghaire, entitled « Le musée des jeux », which contains games on art and history, a board game and a timeline. Its goal, as our goal, is to learn about history and art while having fun.

Why ? The goal of this app is to develop the sense of observation of children and make them to explore a museum completly.

Our application offers a treasure hunt within museums. It will be a question of taking up several challenges and searching for the elements of the museum requested by the application. For example, look for a masterpiece by a specific artist or an element of a painting. Once the element has been found, the participant will have to take a picture or scan the QR code of the masterpiece (usually the one corresponding to the audioguides). Otherwise, once scanned, a description of the work is displayed on the application.

As a concurrent we can name the app Apptree. It enables to create personalized path with games and to have fun and interactive visits. As our app, it is an audioguide on the smarthphone and it offers games. But with our application, the audioguide is in the form of a treasure hunt.
